Up & At Em Community Initiative is always looking for individuals, organizations, and local partners who want to make a direct impact in the lives of people facing homelessness, addiction recovery challenges, and housing instability across Boston and surrounding Massachusetts communities.

Getting involved means becoming part of a hands-on effort to connect people to real, immediate support. This can include helping with outreach, assisting with resource navigation, supporting events, contributing professional skills, or partnering to expand access to housing, recovery, healthcare, and basic needs services.

 

Every role—whether formal or informal—helps strengthen the support network that people rely on during critical moments in their lives.

We welcome volunteers, peer mentors, advocates, service providers, and community members who are committed to dignity, accountability, and practical action. No matter your background, there are meaningful ways to contribute, whether through direct engagement with individuals, behind-the-scenes coordination, or helping expand awareness and resources within the community.
